Final Fantasy XIII: 'Now I'm Excited'

Although Final Fantasy XIII is still one of the most anticipated Japanese role-playing games scheduled to launch in the United States and Europe this year, I was never terribly excited about it. I, of course, would feel a stirring in my chest whenever massive tradeshow monitors were ignited with Square-Enix's glorious CG footage and I do recall feeling a few butterflies in my stomach when I first picked up a controller to play the Japanese demo, but that's about it. Perhaps I was just keeping my expectations reasonable or I was concerned about the design philosophies behind the game's unusual battle system, but this week, all that changed.

I recently had the opportunity to play Final Fantasy XIII in a much quieter, more controlled environment where I could more leisurely experiment with and explore the game's many subsystems. It was during this demo that the game's battle system finally clicked in my head. It's certainly taken a while, but I'm now officially excited for Final Fantasy XIII. There's no way for me to know if the full experience will live up to the now wild expectations, but -- at the very least -- I can now fully enjoy the final month leading up to the game's U.S. launch.

For those of you that missed out on our preview coverage of Square-Enix's upcoming JRPG, Final Fantasy XIII stars a cast of six characters with the mysterious "Lightning" taking the lead. The game takes place on two main worlds: Cocoon and Pulse. Pulse is a savage, sprawling field, whereas Cocoon is a spherical moon that hangs above it. The demo I played took place on Pulse, and this was one of the first times I was able to actually play in this environment.

It should be said that Final Fantasy XIII is gorgeous. Standing amidst the sweeping plains of Pulse was a magnificent experience, as creatures could be seen sprinting through the field in the distance, birds cast shadows on the ground as they glided overhead, and massive, dinosaur-like beasts meandered slowly and carefully through the canyons. The developers at Square-Enix clearly invested just as much energy into the game's visuals as they did when developing the game's sleek interface and sizzling CG.

At the start of my demo -- after I drooled the proper amount over the game world -- I explored a few more of Final Fantasy XIII's menus. It was here that I learned a tidbit that brought me great relief: you can in fact control which characters are in your party and you can also select which character you as a player control during combat. I was previously under the impression that story progression dictated your party's members -- which is usually the case -- but the end of the game does open up and give players more options.

The battle system in Final Fantasy XIII is incredibly complex, but the fundamental basics are easy to grasp: players control one character at a time and can execute a string of commands in any order, as long as their command gauge has had enough time to fill. As the gauge fills in segments, the player can queue up as many commands as there are available segments. The AI handles control of the other characters in the player's party of three.

The other main component of the Final Fantasy XIII battle system is the Paradigm sub-system. A "Paradigm" refers to a collection or grouping of Roles that each character is currently assigned. There are six possible Roles available to the cast including Commando, Ravager, Sentinel, Saboteur, Synergist and Medic. Although each character in the cast of six has particular base statistics that might make them more suited for one Role or another, these Roles are open to everyone. So there are plenty of customization options available to players.

When building a Paradigm before battle, the player must consider what sort of Roles are needed at any one time. As the Role selected determines the character's abilities, it would be extremely unwise to head into battle with all three characters acting as Medics, for example -- they would be unable to attack. It's all about finding an effective balance that suits the situation. Commandos, for example, are all about melee attacks, while Ravager's are magic-based and can also serve as support units. Sentinels, on the other hand, are defensive in nature, while Saboteurs and Synergists are de-buffers and buffers, respectively. So one handy combination might be one Commando, one Ravager and one Medic. This set of three Roles forms a Paradigm.

Fortunately, players can create up to six Paradigms before battle and then switch between them at any time during combat. This is called a Paradigm Shift and dictates how all the characters in the party behave. While speaking with Yuji Abe, the battle director of Final Fantasy XIII, I was told that this Paradigm system was designed to give players control of the flow of battle. If your characters are getting weak, set up a Paradigm where two of your characters are medics and one is a Synergist. There are numerous possibilities and the fact that each character has a full grid of level-ups to grind through (similar to the Sphere Grid in Final Fantasy X and the License Board in Final Fantasy XII) for each available Role, players can sink an exorbitant amount of time into powering up.

Although Director Motomu Toriyama confirmed with me that there was no downloadable content currently planned for Final Fantasy XIII (because Square Enix wanted a 100-percent enjoyable experience right on the disc), the game looks even more promising than ever before. I can now say that I am officially excited for Final Fantasy XIII, especially after seeing the character Fang summon her Eidolon, Bahamut.

After the king of dragons descends from the sky, shattering ancient, pulsating runes and splitting the clouds above, he can then transform into what I can only refer to as a "dragon jet fighter." Fang rides him around as he decimates the poor, underpowered creatures below with blasts of energy. This was about as close to a full "OMG" moment as I could have possibly hoped to experience.

Also, the game features little baby sheep that prance around on the field. You cannot interact with these sheep, but just look at how adorable they are. Who wouldn't be excited for this game?

In Final Fantasy XIII, players will embark on a journey through the cityworld of Cocoon and the outerworld of Pulse, encountering and fighting alongside a diverse group of allies. Execute powerful attacks with weapons and magic, and summon the enigmatic Eidolons with an evolved Active Time Battle system. Background

In Japan, organized crime and criminals come under the general heading of Yakuza. According to tradition, the name is derived from the worst possible score in a Japanese card game. It comes from Japan's counterpart to Black Jack, Oicho-
Kabu. The general difference between the cardgames is that in Oicho- Kabu is that a winning total of the cards is 19 instead of 21. As you see, the sum of 8, 9 and 3, is 20, which is over in Oicho-Kabu. In a hand resulting in a score of 20, the worst
possible score, a player's final score would be zero. Among the losing combinations, the phonetic sound of an 8-9-3 sequence is ya - ku - sa. It's from there the name, yakuza is derived... without worth to society. This doesn't mean that they have no
use for the society, it means that the members are people that somehow do not fit in the society, in other words societies misfits.

The Yakuza were itinerant gamblers, peddlers, renegade warriors and roving bandits. They served shoguns and municipalities and their legend includes a distinct Robin Hood quality that recently emerged during the recent Kobe Earthquake. The Yamaguchi-gumi Yakuza clan quickly mobilized providing on the scene assistance to Kobe's earthquake victims long before the national government resolved to act. Yakuza form a central theme in Japan's popular culture and trace their origins to at least the 17th century. Therefore, among the world's criminal organizations the Yakuza are older than the Sicilian Mafia.

Yakuza strength rises and falls according to the tides of Japanese society, with estimates of core membership ranging from 80,000 to more than 110,000 in the years from 1945 to 1996. Some authorities believe Japan's National Police routinely
undercount the Yakuza, numbering only those names found in confiscated membership rolls, or recorded from routine police intelligence reports. Like the Sicilian Mafia and other underworld organizations, the Yakuza are formed into families, but in Japan other distinctions emerge including that of the oyabun - kobun (father role - child role) relationship, between Yakuza chiefs and
their underlings.

The Yakuza evolved into their current form late in the 19th-century under figures like Toyama Mitsuru. This son of a Samurai founded the Genyosha (Dark Ocean) Society, and later Toyama's top aide Ryohei Uchida founded the Amur River
Society (Black Dragons). Like organized crime in other cultures, the Yakuza began to control construction labor and dockside labor, adding to traditional areas of enterprise in the vices, prostitution, gambling, liquor distribution, and entertainment.
In the late 1960s or early 1970s the Yakuza moved into the lucrative narcotics trade and in recent years have stepped up their trade in firearms and other contraband. According to various sources, Yakuza have formed alliances and working
relationships with Chinese Triads, Sicilian and American Mafia, Columbian drug cartels, Jamaican Posses, and assorted other criminal organizations throughout the world.

Because of their unique role in Japan's history and popular culture, and their usefulness in providing muscle to control labor unions, and providing anonymous services to the public for a variety of typical underworld products in vice and
contraband accommodations between Yakuza, police, ultranationalists, government, political parties, and secret societies seems to be an accepted fact of life in Japan. Yakuza are active worldwide, wherever criminal enterprises flourish. The Yakuza
have been very skillful in the employment of intermediaries and the absence of Japanese within a community does not mean an absence of Yakuza.

Kabuki-Mono

Yakuzas origin can be followed far back as to the year 1612, when men known as kabuki-mono (the crazy ones). Their odd clothing style, the distinct haircuts and bad behavior, longswords quickly got everybody's attention. They were known as
masterless samurais, ronin, and several of them began to wander around in Japan as a band of robbers, plundering villages and small cities.

Machi-Yakko

Yakuza however not see kabuki-mono as their "ancestors" instead they feel that they are machi-yakko(City servant), Machi-yakko became the people's heroes, praised by the citizens for their help against kabuki-mono. The Machi-yakko were
often weaker, far less trained and equipped than kabuki- mono. Therfore they were compared with England's Robin Hood.
Kabuki-mono were known for their ruthless behavior and terrorizing all the surrounding areas. They were well known for stabbing people for pleasure. Kabukimono were gave their groups scary names and spoke in vulgar slang. The current yakuza did not evolve until about the middle of the 17th century. Its members were bakuto (gamblers) and tekiya (street vendors). Something that
was remarkable were their loyalty to each other. They protected each other regardless even if it meant going against their own family.

Kabuki-mono generally came from shoguns or samurais whom during long peaceful times were forced into unemployment.
Almost all yakuza have the same type of background poor, criminals and misfits. The Yakuza became a family for them. They got help with problems, got attention and could feel a certain saftey.

The Industrialization of Japan

When Japan began to industrialize, the yakuza followed Japan's deploying society. They began to recruit employees within the construction business and people working at the docksides. They began to check the rickshaw business. The gambling side of the Yakuza was at this time sorta put to the side, because the police were cracking down roughly on the bakuto- gangs. Tekiya on the contrary flowered and expanded since most of their activities were not considered illegal but more importantly not on the surface of society. Yakuza began to develop an interest for policy and started affiliations with certain political officials. They began to cooperate with the authorities in order to get certain contributions and to ease the harassment from the authorities.
About up until the year 1925 Japan had an Emperor. But the course of events in the world was proving that a democratic rule was better than aristocratic, therefore Japan initiated a public vote for all men 1925. Within a few years the communist and socialist parties were found. Around then the prince, that became emperor 1926, existed however his staff of military and some other officials did not agreed with democracy. The economical depression at the end of 20th century created suspicion against the western worlds liberalism. They took advantage of this and different secret organizations were created that trained its members in warfare, languages, assassination, blackmail etc. The ultranationalism terror lasted on into the 1930s. They murdered two prime ministers, two finance ministers, attacked several politicians, and industrialist. The Yakuza supplied them with the muscles and men in order to help and train these underworld organization. This type of yakuza is called the unyoke (political right).

The Occupation Years

After WWII when the American troops occupied Japan they saw the yakuza as the biggest threat against their forces. They began to watch the yakuza's activities. The American troops rationed out food and as a result the black market flowered
and made the gangs rich and powerful. It were during the occupations that a new sort of yakuza began to grow, gurentai (street hustler). They were for the most part involved in robbery and black market. Yakuza became influenced by the American gangster movies and began to dress in black suits with white shirts, black sunglasses and cropped hair. They became
tougher and more violent, the sword became history, now it was firearms. It was about this time that not just gamblers and storekeepers became exposed to violence but also the ordinary person was becoming more of a victim. Between about the years of 1958 and 1963 the number of yakuza- members increased with over 150%, to 184,000 members, now are they well below that. There are an estimated 5,200 different gangs in Japan. Also during that time they began to mark out their territories and wars started between the gangs. It is believed that the wars between the gangs were settled by a man named Yoshio
Kodama. Kodama was Japan's underworld counterpart to America's Al Capone.

The Yakuza Organization

For the yakuza it doesn't matter were you came from, which country or from which class of society you belonged to, you can become a member anyway. Yakuza takes care of the misfits in the society. Yakuza members can be youth that been
abandoned by their parents, youths seeking refuge from the high pressures of school, refugees from Korea, China etc. The boss becomes their father and their comrades as brothers. The Yakuza offers not only companionship but also money, status, and authority. A part of a group were you feel useful and needed. There are no thresholds or requirements in order to become a member. But when you are inside strict obedience to the superiors is demanded. The yakuza sees himself, as Machi-yakko, the people's rescuer and helper. Far before any working courts existed in Japan the yakuza existed. If your clans chief couldn't or wouldn't help resolve a dispute you could turn to the local yakuza for help. They solved the problem in return for money. The solution however was more brutal than if you had turned to the police. The yakuza structure exists in two types of yakuza, clan yakuza and freelance yakuza.

Freelance Yakuza

Freelancing yakuza are generally wanna be's yakuza that don't commit serious crimes and they are usually little more than a group of hustlers. They have however some difficulties surviving since the clan yakuza do not afford them any protection or assistance and generally doesn't allow them to operate within their territories. Clan yakuza can tip the police about crimes that the freelance yakuza commit. If the freelance yakuza earns to much money, the clan yakuza kills the freelancing yakuza or makes him disappear without a trace. The clan yakuza however have certain uses for a freelance yakuza. If the clan
yakuza needs something done that they not want the clan to be associate with, they can turn to a freelancing yakuza that, for a sum of money, does the job for them. A freelance yakuza can also be used as a scapegoat for crimes. A freelancer is truly a
genius if he can manage to begin his own clan and stay alive. Usually a freelance yakuza becomes a clan member unless he gets killed.

Clan Yakuza

The clan have been compared to the Sicilian mafias "family". The clan is structured much like a common family in traditional Japan. The clan has a hierarchy structure. The clans head chief is called Oyabun, that means Father. Beneath him
he has his children(Wakashu) and brothers(Kyodai). These are not his real children and brothers, only designations of rank and position they have within the clan. All the members in the clan obey the Oyabun and in return he protects them against all dangers. Oyabun is almighty within the clan and his words is the law. All obey him without hesitation or concern for their own life.
Beneath him, oyabun has an adviser that is called Saiko-komon and he has a staff of advocates, accountants, secretaries and advisers. The children's (Wakashu) boss called Waka gashira. He is number two in the clan after Oyabun, not in rank
but in authority. He acts as a middleman to see that the oyabun's orders are being accomplished.

The children leaders over their own (sub) gangs and over time can move up in the structure. In that way the clan becomes a ramification with several sub families. The oyabun's "brothers" or Kyodai, boss is called Shatei gashira. Shatei gashira is
of higher rank than Waka gashira but doesn't have more authority. "The Brothers" have their own "children" or "younger brothers"(Shatei). Shatei, has its own sub gangs etc. Everyone obeys its gangleader, but it's always the oyabun's word that
counts.

Tattoos

It's usual within yakuza circuits to tattoo themselves, usually is it their clan's badges that they have all over their body. The origin of the yakuza tattoo comes from the Bakuto. They usually tattooed a black ring around the arm for each crime
they committed. Finally it became a symbol of strength. It can take over 100 hours to do an entire back tattoo. The tattoo was to illustrate you were unwilling to accommodate yourself to societies rules and norms. Now is it to illustrate your clan affiliations.

Yubitsume

The manner comes originally from the Bakuto. If a gambler couldn't pay back a debt or something like that the persons tip of the little finger got cut off, which damage the hand and the person could not hold his sword as well as before. Also that way other people could see if a person haven't paid a debt, which could bring certain problems, since gambling always been prohibited in Japan. Yubitsume is when you cut of one of your fingers and send it to the Kumicho. This is done as an apology for disobedience. It can be done to atone for a wrongdoing but can also be done to spare one of your "children". When you have done something that your Kumicho dislikes you take a sharp item, cut off a fingertip, wrap it in paper and send it to the Kumicho and beg for his forgiveness. If it's the first time you cut off the little fingertip there after it becomes the next little finger and so on. Because of that you may see yakuza members that are without several of his fingers. This helps often at wrongdoings, but if you've done something all to seriously, as e.g betray the entire clan, there´s nothing that can help you from becoming a statistic.

ABOUT THE SLIDESHOW AND THUMBNAIL
What you need to do is open that section up, and create a new key as well as include the image source for each image you want to show.

There are two custom fields used for all post’s thumbnail images

Custom Fields Keys (CASE SENSITIVE):
1. “featured” is use for all post in Featured category that will appear in slideshow.
2. “thumbnail” for all other post category thumbnails

Remember, The images MUST BE ON YOUR OWN DOMAIN to make the thumbnail works.

Some important things to note regarding automatic image resizing:

The theme uses the TimThumb PHP script to automatically create and resize the thumbnail images, and in order for it to work properly you need to take note of the following things first:

* TimThumb requires the GD library, which is available on any host sever with PHP 4.3+ installed.
* The theme has a cache folder for the thumbnail images located at dramagacache which requires proper write permissions. If your host server doesn’t allow this by default, be sure to manually change the /cache/ folder permissions to 777 or 755.
* Use absolute paths for your images in the custom fields. for example http://yourdomain.com/wp-content/uploads/images.jpg
* If your Hosted your site in Hostgator and your image didn’t appear after following all the instruction. Try to contact hostgator, tell them the problem and ask them to get ur site whitelisted on the mod_security stuff. There’s a security function in hostgator that prevents the timthumb from working.

Departemen Luar Negeri Republik Indonesia membuka kesempatan kepada Warga Negara Indonesia, pria dan wanita:
1.Lulusan S1, S2, dan S3 menjadi Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS) Golongan III untuk dididik menjadi Pejabat Diplomatik dan Konsuler (Diplomat/PDK);
2.Lulusan Diploma 3 (D3) menjadi Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil (CPNS) Golongan II untuk dididik menjadi:
a. Bendaharawan dan Penata Kerumahtanggaan Perwakilan (BPKRT); dan
b. Petugas Komunikasi (PK).
I. PERSYARATAN UMUM

a.Warga Negara Indonesia yang bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Yang Maha Esa, setia dan taat kepada Pancasila, UUD 1945, dan Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia.
b.Berkelakuan baik dan tidak pernah dihukum penjara atau kurungan berdasarkan putusan pengadilan yang memiliki kekuatan hukum tetap yang dibuktikan dengan Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian.
c.Tidak pernah diberhentikan dengan hormat tidak atas permintaan sendiri atau tidak dengan hormat sebagai PNS/Anggota TNI/Polri atau diberhentikan tidak dengan hormat sebagai pegawai swasta.
d.Tidak berkedudukan sebagai Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil atau Pegawai Negeri Sipil dan tidak sedang terikat perjanjian/kontrak kerja dengan instansi lain.
e.Tidak bersuami/beristrikan seorang yang berkewarganegaraan asing atau tanpa kewarganegaraan.
f.Sehat jasmani dan rohani.
gBersedia ditempatkan di seluruh wilayah Negara Republik Indonesia atau negara lain yang ditentukan oleh Pemerintah.
II. PERSYARATAN KHUSUS
A. PEJABAT DIPLOMATIK DAN KONSULER (DIPLOMAT/PDK)
a .Berijazah Sarjana (S1), Magister/Master (S2) atau Doktor (S3):
1.Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik (Jurusan Ilmu Politik, Hubungan Internasional, Studi Kawasan, Ilmu Komunikasi, Sosiologi, Ilmu Pemerintahan dan Administrasi Negara).
2.Ilmu Hukum (Hukum Internasional, Hukum Bisnis, Hukum Perdata, Hukum Tata Negara, Hukum Administrasi Negara).
3.Ilmu Ekonomi (Jurusan Studi Pembangunan, Manajemen, Akuntansi).
4.Sastra/Ilmu Pengetahuan Budaya (Arab, China, Inggris, Jepang, Perancis, Rusia, dan Spanyol).
b. Lulusan Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, Perguruan Tinggi Swasta atau Perguruan Tinggi Luar Negeri yang terakreditasi Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi, dengan persyaratan IPK:
* Sarjana (S1) minimal 2,75 (dua koma tujuh lima);
* Magister (S2) minimal 3,00 (tiga koma nol nol);dan
* Doktor (S3) minimal 3,00 (tiga koma nol nol).
c.Menguasai bahasa Inggris dengan baik (lisan dan tulisan) dan/atau bahasa PBB/asing lainnya (Arab, China, Jepang, Perancis, Rusia, dan Spanyol).
d.Berusia maksimum:
* 28 tahun pada tanggal 1 Desember 2008 (lahir setelah 30 November 1980) untuk tingkat Sarjana (S1).
* 32 tahun pada tanggal 1 Desember 2008 (lahir setelah 30 November 1976) untuk tingkat Magister (S2).
* 35 tahun pada tanggal 1 Desember 2008 (lahir setelah 30 November 1973) untuk tingkat Doktor (S3).
B.BENDAHARAWAN DAN PENATA KERUMAHTANGGAAN PERWAKILAN (BPKRT)
a.. Berijazah Diploma 3 (D3):
1.Jurusan Akuntansi.

b. Lulusan Perguruan Tinggi Negeri, Perguruan Tinggi Swasta atau Perguruan Tinggi luar negeri yang terakreditasi oleh Badan Akreditasi Nasional Perguruan Tinggi dengan persyaratan IPK: minimal 2,75 (dua koma tujuh lima).

III. PENDAFTARAN
a.Melakukan REGISTRASI ONLINE melalui website www.deplu.go.id dan mencetak formulir registrasi beserta pernyataan menyetujui ketentuan dan syarat yang ditetapkan.
b.Registrasi online harus disertai dengan pengiriman berkas lamaran yang disampaikan kepada Panitia Penerimaan CPNS Deplu Tahun Anggaran 2008.
c.Setiap Pelamar hanya diperkenankan mengirimkan satu berkas lamaran dan mendaftar hanya untuk satu kategori seleksi PDK atau BPKRT atau PK.
d.Registrasi online baru akan diproses setelah Panitia menerima berkas lamaran yang disampaikan melalui Pos Tercatat mulai tanggal 11s/d 31 Juli 2008 (CAP POS) dan sudah diterima Panitia selambat-lambatnya tanggal 4 Agustus 2008, ditujukan kepada:

i.Surat Pernyataan Menyetujui Ketentuan dan Syarat yang telah dicetak dibubuhi meterai Rp.6.000;
ii.Fotokopi KTP yang masih berlaku/Fotokopi Paspor bagi pelamar dari luar negeri;
iii.Daftar Riwayat Hidup terakhir;
iv. Satu lembar fotokopi ijazah (D3, S1, S2, dan/atau S3) berikut transkrip nilai yang sudah dilegalisir (cap dan tanda tangan asli) oleh Dekan/Direktur Program atau Ditjen Dikti Depdiknas bagi lulusan Perguruan Tinggi Luar Negeri (Surat Keterangan Kelulusan/Ijazah Sementara dapat diterima, dengan syarat Pelamar dapat menyertakan Surat Pernyataan dari Pimpinan Universitas yang menyatakan bahwa pihak Universitas sudah dapat mengeluarkan Ijazah Asli yang bersangkutan pada saat akan mengikuti Ujian Tahap Akhir (Tes Pemeriksaan Psikologi dan Wawancara Substansi, serta Tes Penguasaan Teknologi Informasi/Komputer), yang dijadwalkan akan dilaksanakan pada pertengahan bulan Oktober 2008. Bagi Pelamar yang tidak dapat menunjukkan Ijazah Asli, maka yang bersangkutan dinyatakan gugur dan tidak dapat mengikuti Ujian Tahap Akhir);
Catatan: bagi lulusan luar negeri yang memiliki transkrip nilai tidak berskala 4.0 harap melampirkan konversi transkrip nilai dengan skala 4.0 yang disahkan oleh Ditjen Dikti Depdiknas.
v.Fotokopi Akte Kelahiran;
vi.Surat Keterangan Sehat dari dokter (terbaru);
vii.Fotokopi tanda pencari kerja (kartu kuning Depnaker) yang masih berlaku;
viii.Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian (SKCK) yang masih berlaku;
ix.Pas foto terakhir ukuran 3×4 (berwarna) sebanyak 3 lembar: 1 lembar foto ditempel di formulir lamaran dan 2 lembar lainnya ditulisi nama pelamar di bagian belakang foto.
g.Lamaran beserta lampiran tersebut pada butir (e) disusun rapi sesuai urutan di atas dalam map kertas jepit berlubang dengan warna:
i.Biru untuk S1 - PDK;
ii.Kuning untuk S2 - PDK;
iii.Putih untuk S3 - PDK;
iv.Hijau untuk D3 - BPKRT; dan
v.Merah untuk D3 - PK.
h.Map lamaran beserta lampiran dimasukkan ke dalam amplop warna coklat dan ditulis pada pojok kiri atas kode lamaran PDK atau BPKRT atau PK.
i.Berkas lamaran yang tidak memenuhi persyaratan tersebut di atas tidak akan diproses.
j.Berkas lamaran yang diterima Panitia menjadi milik Panitia dan tidak dapat diminta kembali oleh Pelamar.
IV. TAHAPAN DAN JADWAL SELEKSI
Seleksi penerimaan PDK, BPKRT dan PK dilakukan dengan tahapan-tahapan sebagai berikut:
1.Seleksi Administratif;
2.Ujian Tulis Substansi dalam Bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris (meliputi masalah nasional, internasional dan pengetahuan umum) dijadwalkan akan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 6 September 2008 (PDK) dan 7 September 2008 (BPKRT dan PK). Tempat pelaksanaan ujian akan ditentukan kemudian;
3.Ujian Kemampuan/Penguasaan Bahasa Inggris atau Bahasa Asing Lainnya (Arab, China, Inggris, Jepang, Perancis, Rusia, dan Spanyol) berdasarkan pilihan peserta, dijadwalkan akan dilaksanakan pada awal bulan Oktober 2008. Tempat pelaksanaan ujian akan ditentukan kemudian;
4. Tes Pemeriksaan Psikologi dan Wawancara Substansi serta Tes Penguasaan Teknologi Informasi/Komputer dijadwalkan akan dilaksanakan pada pertengahan bulan Oktober 2008. Tempat pelaksanaan ujian akan ditentukan kemudian;
5. Peserta yang lulus pada setiap tahapan ujian akan diumumkan melalui website Deplu www.deplu.go.id.
6.Seleksi dilakukan dengan sistem gugur dan keputusan Panitia tidak dapat diganggu gugat.
V.PENGUMUMAN HASIL SELEKSI ADMINISTRATIF DAN PENGAMBILAN KARTU TANDA PESERTA UJIAN
1. Hanya Peserta yang telah melakukan registrasi online dan memenuhi seluruh persyaratan untuk melamar/persyaratan pendaftaran, yang akan diloloskan dalam tahapan Seleksi Administratif. Hasil Seleksi Administratif dijadwalkan akan diumumkan pada tanggal 23 Agustus 2008 melalui website Deplu www.deplu.go.id.
2. Pelamar yang telah dinyatakan lolos tahapan Seleksi Administratif diwajibkan untuk mengambil Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian sebagai syarat mengikuti Ujian Tulis Substansi.
3. Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian harus diambil sendiri oleh peserta ujian di Pusdiklat Deplu, Jalan Sisingamangaraja No. 73, Jakarta Selatan, dengan menunjukkan kartu identitas diri. Apabila Peserta mewakilkan pengambilan Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian kepada pihak ketiga, maka diperlukan Surat Kuasa bermeterai dengan menunjukkan kartu identitas diri Peserta dan Penerima Kuasa, serta menyerahkan fotokopi kartu identitas diri dimaksud.
4.Jadwal pengambilan Kartu Tanda Peserta Ujian dijadwalkan akan diumumkan kemudian melalui website Deplu www.deplu.go.id.
VI. LAIN-LAIN
1.Seleksi masuk Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Departemen Luar Negeri tidak dipungut biaya.
2. Departemen Luar Negeri tidak bertanggung jawab atas pungutan atau tawaran berupa apapun oleh oknum-oknum yang mengatasnamakan Departemen Luar Negeri atau Panitia, sehingga Peserta diharapkan tidak melayani tawaran-tawaran untuk mempermudah penerimaan sebagai Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Departemen Luar Negeri.
3. Bagi mereka yang telah dinyatakan lulus hingga tahapan terakhir seleksi, tetapi mengundurkan diri diwajibkan mengganti biaya yang telah dikeluarkan Panitia sebesar Rp 15.000.000,- (Lima Belas Juta Rupiah) untuk PDK dan Rp 10.000.000,- (Sepuluh Juta Rupiah) untuk BPKRT dan PK.
4. Lamaran yang dikirimkan kepada Departemen Luar Negeri sebelum pengumuman ini dianggap tidak berlaku.
5. Informasi resmi yang terkait dengan seleksi CPNS Deplu 2008 hanya dapat dilihat dalam website Deplu www.deplu.go.id. Para pelamar disarankan untuk terus memantaunya.

Departemen Perindustrian membuka kesempatan kepada Warga Negara Indonesia lulusan Strata 2 (S2), Strata 1 (S1)/Diploma IV (D.IV), Diploma III (D.III)/Sarjana Muda, untuk menjadi Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil di lingkungan Departemen Perindustrian.
I. PERSYARATAN UMUM
1. Persyaratan Pelamar :
a. WNI berusia serendah-rendahnya 21 Tahun dan setinggi-tingginya 30 Tahun pada tanggal 1 Oktober 2009.
b. Memiliki kualifikasi pendidikan yang dibutuhkan.
c. Pelamar berasal dari Jurusan yang Terakreditasi A oleh Depdiknas untuk pendidikan Strata 2 (S2), Strata 1 (S1)/Diploma IV (D.IV), dan Terakreditasi B untuk Diploma III (D.III) kecuali Akademi dengan spesialisasi Teknologi Kulit.

d. Tidak pernah dihukum penjara atau kurungan berdasarkan putusan pengadilan yang telah mempunyai kekuatan hukum yang tetap, karena melakukan suatu tindak pidana kejahatan.
e. Tidak pernah diberhentikan dengan hormat tidak atas permintaan sendiri atau tidak dengan hormat sebagai PNS/TNI/POLRI, atau diberhentikan tidak dengan hormat sebagai pegawai swasta/pegawai BUMN/BUMD/Koperasi.

II. Persyaratan Pendaftaran
* Warga negara Indonesia;
* Peserta merupakan lulusan :
o D-III Pelayaran dengan IPK minimal 2,50 (dua koma lima nol dan nilai tersebut bukan hasil pembulatan) dari skala 4. (untuk Kode KP 1 dan 2);
o SMK Pelayaran dengan nilai rata-rata ”Ujian Tertulis” pada ijasah tidak kurang dari 6,50 (enam koma lima nol dan nilai tersebut bukan hasil pembulatan). (untuk Kode KP 3 dan 4);
o SMK Mesin/Listrik/Elektronika/Bangunan Kapal dengan nilai rata-rata ”Ujian Tertulis” pada ijasah tidak kurang dari 7,00 (tujuh koma nol nol dan nilai tersebut bukan hasil pembulatan). (untuk Kode KP 5 sampai dengan 8);
* Untuk Juru Motor Tingkat I dan Juru Mudi Tingkat I, memiliki pengalaman praktik berlayar, dibuktikan dengan surat keterangan/rekomendasi dari instansi terkait;
* Usia berdasarkan tanggal lahir yang tercantum dalam ijasah pada 1 Desember 2009 :
o Minimal 18 tahun dan maksimal 30 tahun untuk kode KP 1 dan 2;
o Minimal 18 tahun dan maksimal 24 tahun untuk kode KP 3 s.d. 8;
* Berjenis kelamin laki-laki dengan tinggi badan minimal 165 cm;
* Tidak buta warna, tidak cacat badan dan tidak mengalami ketergantungan terhadap narkotika/sejenisnya;
* Tidak pernah dihukum penjara atau kurungan berdasarkan putusan Pengadilan, karena melakukan suatu tindak pidana kejahatan;
* Tidak pernah diberhentikan dengan hormat tidak atas permintaan sendiri atau tidak dengan hormat sebagai PNS, anggota TNI/POLRI, pegawai BUMN/BUMD atau pegawai swasta;
* Tidak berkedudukan sebagai PNS atau CPNS;
* Bersedia ditempatkan di seluruh wilayah Negara Kesatuan Republik Indonesia.
III. Tatacara Pendaftaran
* Berkas lamaran berisikan:
o Surat lamaran ditulis dengan tangan sendiri dan ditujukan kepada Menteri Keuangan Republik Indonesia;
o Daftar Riwayat Hidup singkat;
o Fotokopi ijasah/STTB/STL dan transkrip nilai yang telah dilegalisir (ijazah sementara dan surat keterangan lulus tidak berlaku) serta fotokopi sertifikasi ANT/ATT bagi pelamar jabatan Juru Mudi dan Juru Motor;
o Surat Keterangan Dokter Pemerintah yang menyatakan sehat rohani dan jasmani serta tidak buta warna;
o Surat Keterangan Catatan Kepolisian;
o Pas foto berwarna terbaru (3 bulan terakhir) ukuran 4 x 6 sebanyak 3 lembar;
o Fotokopi KTP/SIM yang masih berlaku;
o Surat Keterangan Pengalaman Berlayar dari perusahaan/pemberi kerja bagi jabatan Juru Mudi Tingkat I dan Juru Motor Tingkat I.
* Berkas lamaran di masukkan dalam stopmap berwarna:
o Biru untuk lulusan D-III pelayaran;
o Kuning untuk lulusan SMK Pelayaran;
o Merah untuk lulusan SMK Mesin/Listrik/Elektronika/Bangunan Kapal,
* Berkas lamaran disampaikan kepada Panitia Pusat Penyaringan/Penerimaan Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Golongan II di Lingkungan Departemen Keuangan Tahun Anggaran 2009 mulai tanggal 18 Juli 2009 sampai dengan tanggal 7 Agustus 2009 (cap pos) melalui P.O. BOX 1001 Jakarta 10000
* Pada pojok kiri atas amplop dituliskan tempat lokasi pelaksanaan ujian yang diinginkan dan kode KP yang dipilih Lokasi ujian yang sudah dipilih tidak diperkenankan diganti selama peserta mengikuti tahapan tes. Contoh : Jakarta / 1 (Lokasi Ujian / Kode Kualifikasi)
IV. Seleksi dan Pelaksanaan Ujian
* Seleksi melalui 4 (empat) tahap dengan sistem gugur yang meliputi:
o Seleksi Administrasi;
o Tes Potensi Akademik (TPA);
o Psikotes;
o Tes Kemampuan Khusus dan Kebugaran;
* Lokasi ujian akan dilaksanakan pada kota:
o Jakarta;
o Medan;
o Batam;
o Semarang;
o Surabaya;
o Bitung;
o Makasar.
* Pelamar yang lulus Seleksi Administrasi akan diumumkan pada hari Selasa tanggal 19 Agustus 2009 melalui website Departemen Keuangan dan Kantor Perwakilan Departemen Keuangan di daerah;
* Pelamar yang telah lulus Seleksi Administrasi akan diberikan Tanda Peserta Ujian (TPU). Pengambilan Tanda Peserta Ujian (TPU) dilaksanakan pada tanggal 24 dan 25 Agustus 2009 di Kantor Perwakilan Departemen Keuangan di daerah
V. Lain-Lain
Dalam proses pendaftaran, Penyaringan/Penerimaan Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil Golongan II di Lingkungan Departemen Keuangan Tahun Anggaran 2009 berlaku ketentuan sebagai berikut :
* Bagi mereka yang pernah mengajukan lamaran ke Departemen Keuangan dan sampai pengumuman ini belum mendapat balasan, sepanjang memenuhi syarat dalam pengumuman ini, supaya mengajukan lamaran kembali sesuai prosedur yang berlaku (lamaran yang telah dikirim ke Departemen Keuangan dianggap tidak berlaku).

* Kelulusan pelamar pada setiap tahapan tes ditentukan oleh kemampuan dan kompetensi pelamar. Apabila ada pihak/oknum yang menawarkan jasa dengan menjanjikan sehingga dapat diterima menjadi Calon Pegawai Negeri Sipil di lingkungan Departemen Keuangan dengan meminta imbalan tertentu, maka perbuatan tersebut adalah penipuan. Panitia tidak bertanggung jawab atas perbuatan pihak/oknum tersebut.
* Keputusan Panitia dalam hal kelulusan pendaftar/pelamar pada setiap tahap tes bersifat mutlak dan tidak dapat diganggu gugat.

American Soldier is a concept album from Seattle-based progressive metal band Queensrÿche, released on March 31.The CD is the band’s 10th full-length studio album with original material and the songs lyrical content tells the story of war from a firsthand perspective.

Jason Slater, the producer and songwriter of Queensrÿche’s 2006 album Operation: Mindcrime II, produced American Soldier, and Kelly Grey (Queensrÿche guitarist and producer from 1998-2001) engineered.

Singer Geoff Tate has spent the last few years interviewing veterans from all conflicts America has been involved in from World War II to the Iraq War, including his own father and collecting their stories in order to help him write the album. Some or all of the songs will have their live debut on April 16, 2009 at the Snoqualmie Casino in Seattle. This will be followed by an extensive US tour in the spring and international dates later in 2009.

Cinderella was an incredible heavy metal band with a hint of the blues. Tom Keifer’s singing stands up there with the best such as Brian Johnson of AC/DC and Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. How he gets his voice to make that harsh guttural sound is a mystery to me, but it definitely works. The musicianship of the other band members is excellent. The song writing is also top notch.

The Amaroossa Hotel, one of the Luxurious 4 Star Hotel located in the city Center of Bandung will open soon this October 30th, 2009. In order to support the Winning Team, we need the Suitable Candidates to join PRE OPENING TEAM with the following Positions and Requirements :

1. Department Head
- Director of Human Resources (DHR)
- Financial Controller (FC)
- Director of Food and Beverage (DFB)
- Chief Engineering (CE)

2. Assistant Department Head
- Asst. Financial Controller (AFC)
- Training Manager (TM)
- Executive Chef (EC)
- Asst. Chief Engineering (ACE)
- Asst. Executive Housekeeper (AEHK)
- Asst. Front Office Manager (AFOM)
- Public Relation Manager (PRM)
- Sales Manager (SM)
3. All Departments : Front Office (FO), Food and Beverage (FB), Housekeeping (HK), Engineering (eng), Accounting (Act),Human Resources (HR), Sales & Marketing (SM)
- Executive Secretary to General Manager
- Section Head
- Supervisor
- Staff

General Requirements
- Min 4 years experience in the same position (Point 1)
- Min 2 years experience in the same position (Point 2), For Exec Chef post, min 4 years
- Strong Leadership, dynamic and able to work as a team
- Hotel Background is required
- Good Personality and Well Groom
- Fluent in English is both spoken and written a MUST (All)
- Able to work Long Hour and Under Pressure

Specific Requirements :
- For Greeters, Waiters, Waitress and Front Office Staff, Max Age for Male (27), Female (25) min Height for Male (165 cm) and Female (160 cm).
